One puts together, the other takes apart
Adding and taking away are opposites! One undoes the other. Watch!
3 + 2 = 5

5 − 2 = 3
Add 2 to get 5… take 2 away to get back to 3!
If 3 + 2 = 5, then 5 − 2 = 3. Taking away undoes adding. This is why knowing your number bonds helps with both!
