Measuring with Objects
Using cubes to measure
In Year 1 we measure using objects like cubes! Count how many cubes long something is.
✏️ A pencil is 5 cubes long:
5 cubes long
We can measure with objects — like cubes, paperclips or hand-spans! Line them up along the thing and count. The pencil is 5 cubes long. Using the same-size unit each time makes it a fair measure.
