Writing adding with numbers
We write adding as a number sentence. Read it out loud as you fill it in!
5 + 2 = 7
3 + 4 = 7
6 + 3 = 9
2 + 7 = 9
An addition sentence uses numbers with + and =. Read it: ‘five plus two equals seven’. In Year 1 you write these yourself — a big step up from Reception!
